At the moment…a chore.
Everyone says, write every day, no matter what it is, and they’re right. However, once you write all that something and you haven’t completed any more or your current work, depression sets in. I believe that writing every day does indeed include the writing you do in your head, figuring out the thorny problems and divining the path your characters will take to move your story forward. I like to think this way because I think it’s true and also because it fights the depression when I don’t actually get any physical work done on my current project.
